Entry 4

We are finally beginning to see some light.

This has been a week of shotgun progress. Steve and I worked on the NLTK script and have successfully achieved a minimal level of functionality. We are able to run it against specified files and to generate a few key data points we’ve identified as valuable and write those results to a new .csv file. We a ways to go before the final version of the script contains our full target functionality, but I am very happy with Steve’s dedication and progress. He is thinking through things and bringing them to life.

With Jojo keeping her eye on our development efforts, I can’t help but want Kelly to get more involved in the build side of things. It’s time I started that conversation. The design aspects are so far away, and while I do want to start thinking about them, functionality of the backend is still king.

As far as the project goes, we are making strides in outreach and research. A stronger environmental scan continues to point us toward potential partners and new information. We simply need to buckle down and get some work done.
