Entry 6

Presenting this week thrust us into recap overdrive. We have a lot of loose ends, evolving scripts and server understandings, as well as a heavy dose of conceptual considerations roaming around. As project manager, I like to see each of my team members contributing and claiming ownership of their individual task. Each one of them has shown me that they believe in TANDEM and that they are willing to work to make it as awesome as it can and should be.

I will admit that I often find myself biting my tongue in the name of progress. I can be extremely knit picky. I like to call it attention to detail, but in the past I have been called out for it being less than productive in a team environment. For instance, Jojo called me out on my incessant capitalization of list items in Google Docs. For the sake of everyone’s sanity, I am making an effort to be less demanding and more open to each of my team members individual contributions. They are all working too hard for me to stress them out over the little things. Our main objective is to build a minimum viable product. Nothing more, but more importantly, nothing less.

OpenCV is my main beast to conquer at the moment. I am happy to report that it is moving along. There are some incredible things that we can do with the package. Finding those impressive but minimal global features has been a good practice in the rabbit-holes I talked about in a previous blog. I have been able to stick to my divvied up tasks. We are taking steps forward, and for that, I am happy.
